Angels Camp Man Arrested For Vehicle Theft, Assault With a Deadly Weapon & More!

Jamestown, CA...On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at approximately 3:30 am, CHP was notified by Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office that they were in pursuit of a white Honda Sedan which was reported stolen out of Modesto. The Honda led the deputies at high speeds through Tuolumne, Sonora, and Jamestown and at one point intentionally struck a deputy’s patrol vehicle. At approximately 3:50 am, Sheriffs requested CHP to take over the pursuit. The Honda then led the Sonora Area CHP unit westbound on State Route 108 at speeds of up to 80 mph and driving in opposite lanes (wrong way) at times. A Modesto CHP unit was able to successfully deploy a spike strip on State Route 108 near Wamble Road. The Honda continued westbound even though the tires began to come apart.

The Honda drove through some residential roads in Oakdale and at 4:17 am, the suspect stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. A short foot pursuit entailed and the suspect was apprehended at approximately 4:19 am. The suspect was identified as 28 year old Angels Camp resident, Ryan David Ashlock. Ashlock was booked into Tuolumne County Jail for felony charges of vehicle theft, reckless evading, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon. Ashlock’s bail is set at $50,000.

Only $50,000 ? Striking an officers patrol car, driving on the wrong side of the road at 80 mph ! Should have been shot and saved the court costs

This guy has a record a mile long - why they allowed him to post bail, at all, is beyond me.

Thank the California voting public, your state congress and Brown for the lack of prosecution and punishment......it's only going to get worse....

This county does it hoping they post bail so they can keep the 10%
It's cheaper for them so they don't have to feed the prisoner, house them, give them medical, our GOOD OFFICIALS WOULD RATHER LET THE SCUM BAGS OUT ON BAIL FOR US TO DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!

I believe striking a patrol car may come under assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and/or mayhem. I am sure they probably could have come up with a valid justification.

What? I think you've lost any credit buddy, a little off track are we.... And something is wrong with your brain, this isn't a marijuana article let alone remotely related. FYI weed is banned in this low life's home town, just ask Mr. Freaky todd fordahl and all his intelligence in law enforcement being the chief of police of angels.

We need to find a DA who can put scumbags like this away for good.

Heck, she is so bad, the local bail bondsman went out of business for lack of
customers!
