Notice of CDBG Block Grant Public Hearing on August 22nd
San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors shall conduct a public hearing at 9:30 a.m., or shortly thereafter, on Tuesday, the 22nd of August, 2017 at the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, California. The hearing is being called by the Board of Supervisors for the purpose of soliciting citizen’s views to consider submission of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the State Department of Housing and Community (HCD). The application is for the Special Wildfire Disaster Recovery Program and the total grant request is $2,808,000. The proposed Butte Fire Disaster Recovery Project includes the following activities. They are Tree Removal (up to $1,040,000), Watershed Restoration (up to $650,000), Tree Planting (up to $650,000) and Road Repair (up to $ 260,000), Administration (up to $211,000). Citizen participation is encouraged throughout the grant process, the requirements for which are explained in Section 7080 of the State Community Development Block Grant program regulations.
The County promotes fair housing and makes all its programs available to low and moderate income families regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status or handicap. A public information file, including the draft application and the State regulations, will be available at the County Calaveras Health and Human Services Agency during normal business hours from August 15 to August 22, 2017. Written comments by County residents are invited in addition to comments at the public hearing.
