Fire Update....(Updated as of 8:58:pm) New Vegetation Fire off of Twist Road Quickly Climbs to 150 Acres some Mandatory Evacuations
Jamestown, CA...Well it is in the same general neighborhood as the Jacksonville Fire but now the Twist Fire is burning off of Twist Road. At last report it was up to the 50 acre range and lots of resources are inbound or on scene. Lots of "Move up and cover" activity as well as they rearrange pieces on the chess board to give the best coverage for potential new incidents as well. (Update from CAL-FIRE TCU..."Firefighters are battling a wildfire on Twist Road in Jamestown (Tuolumne County). The fire is actively burning and is 40-50 acres. #TwistFire" (Update as of 6:23pm from Tuolumne Sheriff's Office...."Update at 6:15 PM: Twist Fire is now 150 acres. High temps, low humidity, flashy fuels. Update at 6PM: Mandatory evacuations have been issued on Algerine Road from Wards Ferry to Twist Road and Old Wards Ferry to Richards Ranch Road. CAL Fire reporting #TwistFire which started at Twist Road near Algerine Road is now 30-50 acres. Please stay out of the area so emergency vehicles can get in. We are working with CAL Fire to determine potential evacuations." (Update as of 8:58pm on evacuations from the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."Update at 8:15 PM: Evacuation Orders are still in place for Twist Road, the South side of Algerine Wards Ferry Road, East of Twist Road. Advisories given on the North side of Algerine Wards Ferry and Richards Ranch Road. Update at 7:30 PM: Richard Ranch Road is on Advisory Evacuation. Update at 6:15 PM: Twist Fire is now 150 acres.
