CHP Truckee's Sgt. Fisher Rescued "Star" This Morning

Truckee, CA....From Truckee CHP...."In Truckee we are ready for anything. Today Sgt. Fisher located this fawn stuck in a drainage ditch along I-80. The poor fawns leg had gotten stuck in a drain and water runoff from this mornings thunderstorm was running over the fawn.

Sgt. Fisher went above the call of duty, going into to ditch freeing the animal. Helping it to his vehicle where he transported it to the veterinary hospital.

The fawn has since been named "Star."

That when those officer's go home tonight they won't have to talk about high speed chases, being short at, or shooting someone, or catching speeders or cell phone users?
They can talk about this adorable fawn saved by an outstanding officer.
That's the way it should be...there's too much drama these days, in life, at work, at play.
This is a memorable day.
Good Luck Star.

Actually the deer was not harmed seriously, just some scrapes and possibly a strain. We are in the process of rehabilitating her......though our Veterinarian did say something about wanting to take this beautiful, sweet girl home.
