Study Finds Calaveras County Among Best Places in California for Living on Social Security

Arnold, CA...Planning where you’ll spend your retirement can be difficult, especially for folks who will be relying heavily on Social Security as a main source of income. There are, however, places where Social Security goes further than others and in a new study, SmartAsset has delved in the numbers to find out where. In its third annual study, SmartAsset analyzed Social Security income, cost of living data, and taxes across all counties to determine where people are getting the most mileage out of Social Security, and Calaveras County ranked among the top spots in California.

For a look at how the leaders in California compared, check out the table below:

Rank County Cost of Living Annual Social Security Social Security Taxed? Social Security Goes Furthest Index
1 Tehama, CA $18,456 $18,015 No 69.51
2 Mariposa, CA $20,009 $19,336 No 68.21
3 Trinity, CA $19,701 $18,641 No 66.03
4 Calaveras, CA $19,865 $18,804 No 66.03
5 Placer, CA $21,079 $19,533 No 63.31
6 Colusa, CA $18,664 $17,037 No 62.85
7 El Dorado, CA $20,399 $18,764 No 62.81
8 Siskiyou, CA $18,445 $16,727 No 62.34
9 Amador, CA $19,913 $18,084 No 61.72
10 Plumas, CA $19,333 $17,449 No 61.41

Not all of us grow pot - many of us have earned our retirement and do NOT grow pot.

Us pot farmers work hard! We have to build roads to get to our "garden area", we clear our area from all trees, we have to haul our plants in the middle of the night, we have to move our trash to a more remote area when it smells worse than our garden, we have to stand guard with loaded guns 24/7 to protect our crops, we have to risk our lives making honey oil, and we have to step in our poop since we have no septic in our junk trailer! Geez.... and you think this job is easy!

Calaveras County: Conservative county- yes. Majority of residents who live off "the system" whether it be social security or welfare- yes. Likes to b1tch about liberals who don't contribute any and are detrimental to society- you betcha!

    EXACTLY!!

Ironically, it's red county Americans across the country that are going to be most hurt by Trump's cuts to social programs. Liberals should give up and let them suffer if not for the social costs we will all have to pay when the social safety nets are gone and the streets are flooded with suffering seniors.

Do you think Hillary has stopped crying yet?
Do you think Hillary would be honest now if she could be President?
Do you think Hillary cares about Americans before her own agenda?
The answer to the above questions would still be NO.

Because of how deceitful Hillary was, and still is, we have Donald Trump as President.
Would everyone please stand and thank Hillary for screwing over the American People because of her dishonesty and greed.

Thank you Hillary for all of the lies, you caused this.

It's past that at this point. The DNC screwed Bernie and now we have Trump. But we have to focus on what we have and change in the future!

Thank goodness we have a Constitution.
Trump wants to change everything that he didn't have a say in.
Obamacare. Gotta change it. I will come up with something better.
Paris Climate Deal. Must not be good because I wasn't present during the negotiations. I'll come up with something better.
Hair plugs? Don't need to change those. I wear a squirrel on my head.
Constipated look? Got that mastered. With my constipation. Don't have time to sit on the toilet. Only sit when I pee. That's so I can tweet in 20 seconds. Then masturbate.

I paid in to the system starting with my first day of work.
Why does it bother you to know that I earned the right to
Social Security by working very hard all these years.
That's how it works.
