Home Surveillance System Leads To Real Time Arrest Of Antioch Man

Sonora, CA...An Antioch man is arrested after a Sonora homeowner watched the man on live surveillance prowl around his residence. This morning, the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office received a phone call from a homeowner on Ridgewood Drive. The caller said he was out of town and he received a motion detection alert from his residence. He was able to tune into live surveillance broadcasted from his home and watched as a man walked around his house checking for unlocked windows and doors. The homeowner provided Dispatchers with up to date information which included an associated truck description and when the man had opened and entered the attached garage.

Corporal Benson and Deputy J. Lee arrived at the residence and confronted 24 year old Daniel Oneal of Antioch in the driveway. Oneal complied with orders to turn off the ignition to the truck he was driving and exited the vehicle without incident. As the investigation progressed, Deputies confirmed the 1999 blue Ford F250 was recently stolen from Antioch and Oneal had forced entry into the garage of the Sonora residence. Oneal was found to be in possession of nine sets of car keys associated with nine different auto manufacturers, drug paraphernalia used to smoke heroin, a mask and BB gun.

Oneal was booked into the Tuolumne County jail for burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
