Calaveras Community Foundation Announces Major Sponsorship by The Jackson Rancheria and Unveils New Fundraising Effort
Angels Camp, CA...The Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel has become the first Patron of the nonprofit Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF), the only countywide philanthropic organization serving residents from children to seniors in areas from health and education to the arts. includes sponsorship of two golf tournaments--the 21st Annual La Contenta Pro-Am in Valley Springs on May 5th and the inaugural Community Scramble Fun Day at Saddle Creek in Copperopolis on October 3rd.
“On behalf of the citizens whose lives will be positively impacted through this generous donation, the CCF expresses its gratitude to the Jackson Rancheria,” said Brent Harrington, the newly elected CCF President who most recently was the County’s interim Chief Administrative Officer. “The Rancheria stepped up to the plate, and now we hope to fill out the rest of the 2008 lineup with other sponsors who also see the CCF as ‘a better way to give,’ our new slogan.” Sponsorship levels range from $150 to $10,000 and above.
Said Rich Hoffman, CEO, Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel: “The Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians is proud to be able to contribute to the efforts of nonprofit organizations in nearby communities. Many of our employees and many of our customers are residents of Calaveras County. We felt the CCF was a truly worthwhile vehicle to enrich the lives of residents of that county.”
Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded more than $194,000 in grants and scholarships. Last year, the CCF provided financial support for programs such as the Smile Keepers kids’ dental project; the life-saving Carpool to Dialysis for the Volunteer Center; the Natural High celebration for at-risk youth; Common Ground’s meals for seniors; the Youth Mentoring Program’s five-year reunion; and the Arts Council’s Ovations Series, which takes accomplished performing artists to elementary and middle schools.
