Mountain Ranch Industrial Accident Takes Life Of 21 Year Old

Mountain Ranch, CA...On 04/06/17 at 11:20 AM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Whiskey Slide Road north of the intersection of West Murray Creek Road, in Mountain Ranch for an Industrial Accident. A 21-year old male who was employed by a tree cutting contractor was removing an oak tree from a rural property when a limb fell onto his boom truck bucket. The worker sustained major injuries and was unconscious when emergency services arrived. The 21-year old succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

RIP young man. Still a dangerous profession as it has always been. You have to go slow and watch out. Prayers for his family, friends and co workers.

    That is a terrible accident. These tree services have very dangerous jobs and hoping that many homeowners appreciate the jobs that they do. I could not and would never climb trees in order to financially support myself.

    Sad for boss? Probably wasn't even a licensed tree contractor. The boss should have had a more experienced tree guy instead of putting a young man in a bucket truck to fend for himself. Un properly licensed boss working on government job. Tragic!
