Sonora Man Loses Life During Tree Work On Whiskey Slide Road

Mountain Ranch, CA...We just confirmed with the Calaveras County Coroner that a Sonora man in his early 20s lost his life in tree work on Whiskey Slide Road yesterday. According to the Coroner's office a limb from higher up on the tree came loose, fell on the man and he sustained fatal injuries. Notifications to his family are still being made at this time. More details will be released later. From all of us at our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

I'm saddened by this. I hope his family seek legal counsel to see if you can join the lawsuit against PG&E since the tree removal was the result of the fire and their negligence

I am actually surprised there has not been more loss of life with the volume of trees

It's sad. Especially when it shouldn't happen to anyone let alone a young man. Training and experience is so important! Seems like everyone that has a chainsaw calls themselves a tree company. Hopefully the company was insured to take financial responsibility. It won't bring the young life lost back. Prayers to the family.
