CCWD Completes Repairs & Water Service Restored in Copperopolis
Copperopolis, CA...After the completion of a planned leak repair on Copper Cove Drive, Calaveras County Water District crews restored water service to about 200 residential customers and 20 businesses in Copperopolis at around 10:30 a.m. The detour has been lifted that was in effect on Copper Cove Drive during the repair work.
Now that water service has been restored, customers may experience air bubbles and discolored water in their personal plumbing systems. While the bubbles and discoloration do not pose any health risk, customers may turn on an outside faucet at the lowest portion of their properties and let it run until the water turns clear. District staff will be flushing the system using fire hydrants in the area to remove any discolored water or air bubbles that may exist within the system. If water is discolored within customers’ homes, the District suggests avoiding washing loads of laundry that contain light-colored clothing.
Those with questions or concerns may contact the CCWD Customer Service Department at (209) 754-3543 or email customerservice@ccwd.org. The status of the project will be updated on www.ccwd.org and www.facebook.com/calaveraswaterdistrict.
