Get Ready For Irish Day 2017!! Calaveras County's Largest Single Day Event!!

Murphys, CA...March 18, 2017 – Murphys Irish Day – Join us from 10am-5pm on Murphys Historic Main Street for a celebration of our Irish Heritage. Get here early for the parade and stay to shop the vendors lining Main Street, enjoy live entertainment throughout the day, sip a glass of beer or wine and wander the shops, tasting rooms and other businesses. Park at beautiful Ironstone Vineyards to admire the daffodils (there’s a daffodil show going on this weekend) and ride the free shuttle into town. There will be live entertainment at three locations and on the street throughout the day. This year's poster & a few photos from last year to get you in the mood are below...

If you’ve never been to Irish Day before you may want to check out this video of a previous celebration to get a feel for what to expect. The weather looks as though it will cooperate so we can expect a large crowd. That means you’ll want to get here early to grab a good spot to watch the parade which begins at 11am. Traffic can be very heavy right before the parade and parking in town is limited so we encourage you to park at Ironstone Vineyards and riding the free shuttle into town. The shuttle runs from 9:30am to 5:30pm and picks up passengers from the sidewalk/parking lot behind the Black Sheep Tasting Room on Main Street at the Arbors end of town. Parking in town is likely to be very limited, please be considerate of the surrounding neighbors when parking.

Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for a chance to win the trip to Ireland! The raffle booth (as well as t-shirts, beer and wine) can be found by the Native Sons Hall at 389 Main Street. This is also the place to bring lost items, ask questions or get a corned beef sandwich. The Fire Department will have a booth at the corner of Church and Main Street and this is the place to go for First Aid. Don’t forget to thank the Fire Department for all their hard work at this event. They organize the vendors each year for us and are up before the sun to help make sure this event goes off without at hitch.

This year we are expecting over 150 vendors including food, crafts, jewelry, Irish themed items and much more. And, of course, our unique shops, tasting rooms & restaurants will all be open for business. We have several new businesses in town (Found, the Potted Plum, Mineral Wines, Jazz Cellars, The Forest Floor, Taste of Robs, Irish Vineyards, DLS Insurance, Kola Farms, Wine Cottages and more) so if you haven’t been here for a bit you’ll want to seek them out to see what they have to offer.

We know many of you would like to bring your dog out to enjoy the spring weather and some time in our little town. Well socialized dogs on leashes are allowed at this event but we ask you to consider whether or not you and your dog will be able to enjoy the event given the likelihood of large crowds and lots of small children at eye level. We’d hate to see your dog locked in a hot car during the event.
