LOL 32,000$. That's it? That's like what enough to fund the removal o 10 farms or so. Come on. Gonna need more then that. No on Measure B
Allow the LEGAL growers to pay for funding to eradicate ILLEGAL grows. Common sense. 32,000 honestly won't go that far to make that much of a difference....

Didn't Tunno and McManus say there is BILLIONS of dollars available??? Hmmmm. Citizens better make an informed decision. This BOS is in for a BIG BIG surprise.

I see everyday more people coming to grow Because they are filling aware this county has NO PROPER LONG TERM funding

Get with it everyone. Tax legal growers so we have the funds to get rid of the truly illegal guys. Common sense will prevail

Make growers contain their odors, first their body odors when shopping at Sender's and then the also sickening odors from their grows at harvest time!!!
Probably hard to shower much when you are camping at your workplace?

Dairy farmers and grape growers don't have shootings on their property very often or have their products stolen during the night and most don't have dreadlocks and smell so bad.

I made more then 10 times that last year with my grow. But I did have to pay employees, taxes, workers comp, property taxes, material and building expenses. Now that I have one year under my belt and the foundation of the business laid the business profits should almost triple, well add to the fact I did expand this year. Unlike our local vineyards I do not, will not pay minimum wage and I will be considering enrolling my employees in a 401k option depending on how our community votes. My employees did great for me last year, and were eager to return, for another bountiful year, everyone of them but my irrigation specialist. Pay your good workers well and they'll do you well.

Reading the comments, what I can see is that

the people who want marijuana grows here are

acting much more civilized then the ones who

want to ban the grows, and they're not being

deceitful or lying to the public like two individuals

who were caught lying and have now seemed to have

    disappeared from sight.

I think we should give them the green light. After all

they've put in the time and money to comply with

what was asked of them and growing marijuana for

personal use is also legal. It's been here for decades

illegally, now it's legal, the community will profit from

    legal grows too.

So those of you who want a ban, maybe you should try to

act civil for a change instead of being mean, rude, and having

to resort to being deceitful and lying like others. It really

makes you look bad to everyone else.

    Have a beautiful day

You have to apply for funds in order to get them. Sheriff Rick has decided to go with the growers and hope he gets re-elected early next year. Sad, but true. Hopefully a real cop will run against him. I like Macedo but heard he doesn't want the job. Too bad, that guy is smart and honest.

What a stupid statement, he has not gone with the growers, he has gone with the checkbook, there is no friggin money to fund his department and he knows it, the growers bring money to fund more deputies, vehicles, toys, and even Capt. Macedo's wages. Wake up and smell the coffee, the Sheriff's budget is so underfunded it is questionable if it is even safe in this county, cars that can not go fast enough to pull someone over, firearms held together with electrical tape, vehicles that die the driveway, but oh yeah, you are very willing to have a safety assessment added to your property bill to bring the L. E. budget up to snuff, right?

Are you talking about the illegals who work at the vineyards and the farms? They are there because too many Americans are too lazy to do manual labor at pitiful wages, without those workers the only food on your table would be what you grew. No doubt your vegetables would fail because of too much BS coming out of your mouth and no work on your part.

Any new Residents looking to move to the County must go through the proper Immigration Process, Criminal Background Checks, previous Landlord Check, Employment Checks and all other required Processes of Government plus a $20k Security Bond must be given to the County with no refund. .

Yeah, the IRS is going to audit every grower in California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, New Mexico etc. because they just got their budget cut! Calaveras and the CCA is at the top of the priority list nationwide! Jealous? Maybe try working for a living, instead of acting like some commie dingleberry worrying about your neighbors taxes.

I am a native of Calaveras, think convicted heroin, cocaine, and meth dealers and producers should get a minimum of 25 years in prison, and that marijuana production should be legalized. McManus and Tunno's proposal is utter nonsense that makes people feel good about clamping down on "deplorables", but is going to seriously hurt the economy of this county. I am voting NO on B.

I wasn't sure which way to vote......now that I know that these two were deceitful, I think I'm going with the growers. Last year wasn't all the doom and gloom that these folks said, in fact I didn't notice any problems at all.
Just the usual drunks and the same tweekers the judges let out with the minimum amount of bail like usual.
Plus the financial rewards just might help our great little community as well.
I'm with the growers now, and since marijuana is now legal in the state of Calif. then good luck to the growers and do everyone a favor, keep your nose clean and live up to the responsibility you will be given.

Well said. Does anyone have any photos of Mr. McManus's property from the road that could be posted? If what you are saying about his property is true then he surely is the pot calling the kettle black! I have only lived in Calaveras County for three years. I am a property owner and also a registered commercial grower. My property is immaculate and we have done many improvements. In fact, our property is one of the best, if not the best in our neighborhood. We are both employed with well paying jobs and grow on the side for extra money. Cannabis could be our retirement plan :) I love this county's beauty but cannot stand the ignorance and backwoods mentality of so many of the locals. It is as if the Ban folks have been living in a hole and have never traveled and experienced other cultures. So ignorant and close minded.

Maybe you should post pictures of his property? He is now a public figure and we have the right to see it. Also, what is his history other than shooting his mouth off? What is Tunno's history? Do they have criminal records? McManus keeps saying he is doing this to help children, what else has he done with children's issues? They have taken a very public stance and we have the right to know who they are. Lets face it, they lost the first honesty test in court with less than accurate info put on the ballot measure proposal, we have the right to know who they are. No, like Attorney Serious on behalf of the county, I have no skin in this game one way or the other, not even sure how I will vote, but have to admit, with the inaccuracies put on the ballot proposal by the two amigos, I think their initiative needs to go in the can.

So let me see if I can wrap my head around the hypocrisy of your post. You CHOSE to move into our town, decided to become a grower, and then get on your high horse about how "backwards" the people are here, and get all uppity because maybe they haven't traveled anywhere. Did you, for one minute consider that the people of this county were quite happy with the way things were before snobby people like you decided they knew better than us "backwards" people. Your conceit is mind boggling.

It is a weed. If you want your pot, get a few seeds and grow a couple of plants. Cut out the middleman, save money and be dependent on no one. If someone can't grow their own, I am sure all the "medicinal" users will be willing to share a bud or two as an act of kindness.

By now, most residents of Calaveras have already decided how to vote. All this rhetorical commenting and name calling means little to us. Whether you are pro or con doesn't persuade or change our minds. Just STFU and let the ballots decide. Both sides of this issue are lying and deceiving just to win the vote. We are not stupid, like your arguments. Get a life .
