After reading some of these comments I am sure there is something wrong with the water in Calaveras. I've owned property in the county fro 25 years and watched the area struggle making ends meet. Now there is an opportunity to apply some good sense to a new opportunity and make some progress and the hillbillies surface to keep everything as bad is it is. Move aside old timers, the new timers are going to improve everything!

Spoken like a true illegal grower. 25 years in Calaveras ? We're you growing all this time, or just on welfare ? Either way, a burden on tax payers.

The county is not nice and has not had enough money. It gets more difficult every year. The #1 issue of protection is for the county not the public health, safety and general welfare of the citizens. Now with this new board, the citizens may see a change in attitude in Calaveras County. Maybe, the law abiding citizens will come first, rather then just being there to pay the county's bills.

The growers haven't done themselves any favors. If you want to be treated like an honest business person then you need to live that role. Show up and act and look like a hippy goofball and people are going to figure that is what you are.

Think about the impression you make.

Not that the locals are much better, but that just means it's not that hard to look and act respectable by comparison.
