Calaveras County Final Budget Book Finished, Ready for Readers ~ By Bethany Monk
San Andreas, C.A....The Calaveras County Office of Auditor-Controller announced today, Wednesday, Jan. 9, the completion of the 2007-08 Fiscal Budget Book, available online at http://www.co.calaveras.ca.us/departments/auditor.asp
The Final Budget Book, a comprehensive, 480-page analysis of county funds, contains summaries and analyses for the more than 80 governement departments from the Admisitrative Office to Victim Witness Assistance. Special Districts such as Fire Protection, Cemetary, Veterans Memorial and Recreation and Park districts are also included.
The county's available financing (including government funds only) for
Fiscal Year 2007-08 is $103,347,330; of that, 37 percent is from intergovernmental revenue; 20 percent from taxes, 11 percent from charges for services, 15 percent from fund balance and 17 percent from all other revenue, according to the report.
Public protection will receive the highest percentage of the funds at 24 percent, followed closely by general government with 23 percent. The breakdown of funds continues with health and sanitation receiving 21 percent; and both public ways/facilities and public assistance receiving 16 percent each; education receiving one percent and recreation and cultural receiving zero percent.
