Copper Parent Teacher Club to Hold Special 'New School' Meeting Tonight ~ By Bethany Monk
Copperopolis, CA....Schools in the Mark Twain Union Elementary School District -- Copperopolis Elementary and Mark Twain Elementary -- are bursting at the seams, and one group is ready to do something about it...
Copperopolis Elementary School
The Parent Teacher Club of Copperopolis Elementary School will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 in the school's gymnasium regarding plans for a new school in Copperopolis.
District 5 Supervisor Russ Thomas, who oversees the Copperopolis area, the district superintendent Philip Yoon and the school's principal Juilia Tidball will attend the meeting.
PTC has also invited a Calaveras County Water District representative and some area developers to discussion.
Parents, guardians, and members of the community are encouraged to attend.
The parent group is holding the special meeting because, "We're trying to get folks together at the table to give a better picture of what our opportunities and/or obstacles are to get a plan started," as stated in the group's flyer advertising the event. "We're running out of business space ...we've got to get started sooner than later.
