Carla Sue Laucci 1945 ~ 2017

Hathaway Pines, CA...On Friday, January 13, 2017, Carla Sue Laucci lost her battle with cancer at Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas, just weeks after her 71st birthday. It was a shock and surprise to her devastated family and she is survived by her husband John Laucci, her daughter Rosa Laucci, her sister Darlene Gery and four nieces.

Born December 28, 1945 in Los Angeles, Carla grew up in South Pasadena with her parents, Ruth & Carmel Grana and her sister Darlene. She graduated from South Pasadena High School and moved to Calaveras County in the late 60’s. She met John Laucci at the Hotel Leger in Moke Hill, they married in 1976 and had one daughter, Rosa. John, an accomplished chef and owner of Highland Books, and Carla, manager of Two Rivers Trading Co. in Arnold, lived in various parts of Calaveras County, but eventually took up residence in Hathaway Pines. An avid outdoorswoman, nature lover, and scrapbooker, Carla took advantage of the gorgeous area she lived in to enjoy her hobbies. She lived life to the fullest possible and successfully fought off breast cancer in 2011, with the help and support of her family, friends and community.

Her smile was always genuine, her kindness boundless. Her spirit was always bright, her humor sharp. When she loved, she loved completely and the light that she brought to this world will be sorely missed every day, but the impact she made on the lives around her will remain.

As the Laucci family navigates through this challenging time, you can help by making a financial contribution to a GoFundMe page set up in her honor to help the family cover the costs of Carla’s memorial. www.gofundme.com/carla-laucci-memorial-fund. A celebration of life will be held, but has yet to be scheduled. For updated information on Carla’s service, please email her daughter, Rosa, at rlaucci@gmail.com.

As time passes by, we will remember Carla, each in our own way. We will laugh and we will cry as we recall all the wonderful memories of our time spent together. Rest in peace Carla, we all love you.

Carla was an amazing woman. She taught us so much on her journey.
Peace be with her family as Carla flies with the Eagles.

Peace to John & Rosa . We live on John & Carla's ranch on Old Gulch Rd.
Being a cancer survivor also, we know the battle.
Life goes on, those who didn't win their battle , in our hearts do live on.

I'm deeply saddened to hear about Carla's passing. She was such a sweet and fun person. I spent time with her when she worked at Two Rivers, I always enjoyed laughing and sharing stories. My heart goes out to John and the family, may friends and the love of family help you during this time.

Carla was a beautiful person. I have had the privilege to be her neighbor and friend. She loved all the wild turkeys we get and she could talk to them and they would answer. I would tease her and call her the "Turkey Whisper Talker". I will miss this lady forever.
