Mokelumne Hill, CA...SR-26 will be closed west of Mokelumne Hill between Paloma Rd and Campo Seco Turnpike due to roadway damage. The closure is expected to last a week. Earlier details....SR-26 is closed between Paloma Rd and Campo Seco Turnpike, west of Mokelumne Hill. This is due to damage to the roadway from the recent storms. Use SR-49 as a detour. Old Gulch Rd is Much Worse

The road is down to one narrow lane, a culvert on the high side limits the width. A large truck would have a problem negotiating the narrow lane. More of the road could of been saved if the County hauled rip rap in before the last series of storms. A peny saved.... I doubt the trump Congress will send disaster funds to Ca, the red Southern states, yes. The County will have to pay for this. Imagine a trump Congress dealing with the Butte Fire......You're on your own guys:(

The hypocrisy of those who took advantage of Federal assistance, now denigrating the role of the government shows nothing less than hypocrisy.

Imagine the State of Jefferson, if it came to be fighting wildland fires with their do it ourselves mentality. In the past what stopped wildland fires was the Nevada desert.

The naivety of those who make such comments is shown.

In unity there is strength, this is called government, it serves the people.

There is no strength in unity if those who unite are not individually strong. Government is needed, but to hold your hand out and cry why me without offering a hand first is the real issue. It is systemic and degenerative, and for those who proclaim hypocrisy if you do not blindly agree with them cannot see the error of their ways.

Where on 26 is the yellow line missing? Drove it twice yesterday and I had a line down the middle of the roadway the whole distance.
