It Was A Sell Out At The 31st Annual "First Taste Of The Year" Copperopolis Wine Festival !!

Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis Town Square hosted the Sold Out, 31st Annual “First Taste of the Year” wine festival on Saturday. 750 tickets were sold for tastings from more than 35 wineries from across the Sierra Foothills. Live jazz from the Bob Eisenman Band complemented artisan foods and appetizers, gourmet wood fired pizza, burgers, cheeses, French bread and treats. A wide selection of custom crafts, artwork, clothes, gifts, wines, foods and souvenirs were also available from local merchants. Activities and games for kids were also part of the festivities. All proceeds benefited Historic Copperopolis via the Copperopolis Community Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the buildings, historic artifacts and history of Copperopolis.

“In addition to the wine, music and food, all guests were treated to an amazing tour of Historic Copperopolis via a free shuttle,” says Kim Hamilton, Director of Marketing for Castle & Cooke California, Inc. “The 20-minute tour will visit historic sites including the Armory, Cannon, Old Church and Copper Mine, and feature an exciting encounter with Black Bart, the most notorious train robber of his day.”

Copperopolis is situated in the rolling foothills of the Central Sierra on Highway 4 in Calaveras County, two hours from the Bay Area and 1.5 hours from Sacramento. The area offers visitors a wide variety of amenities and activities including golf, tennis and dining at the acclaimed Saddle Creek Golf Resort (www.saddlecreekgolf.com) with accommodations for guests in luxurious Lodge Bungalows conveniently located within a few paces of the golf course. To inquire about availability, please call 209.785.7415.

Home sites are available on and off the golf course, as well as new custom homes and resale homes. Visit our sales center located at the Resort for more information about what is currently available. The lofts above Copperopolis Town Square are just steps from restaurants, shops and bars. A 2,000 sq. ft., two-bed, two-bath unit with elevator access is currently available for $299,000.

Dramatic vistas of the Sierra Nevada and countless winter and summer recreational opportunities make Copperopolis an ideal location for vacationers, families and retirees.
