City Of Angels City Council Meeting & Amending Annual Budget For Purchase Of Police Vehicle

Angels Camp, CA...The City OF Angels City Council is holding a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 6th. On the agenda is a resolution amending the annual budget for the 2016/2017 fiscal year for police vehicle replacement and authorizing surplus of two police vehicles.

The meeting will take place at the Angels Fire House located 1404 Vallecito Road in Angels Camp. The regular meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. A copy of the agenda is attached for viewing:

The city should properly maintain what it has. The police should drive these vehicles appropriately.

    I'm pretty sure they already do that, but if they don't, this is a great comment and maybe they'll actually implement a maintenance schedule for their vehicles. Who would of thunk that?

    ACPD would do better to go on a Lease Program with a major manufacturer of Law Enforcement Vehicles. Do a 10 year lease and then trade out for a new unit. Then again if they actually maintained their units they could last 15 years with ease. After all they only have "Town Miles" on the units unlike the CCSO and CHP who have real "Highway Miles" on their units. This smells like a case of we want the newest greatest toy and screw you the tax payer.

      So called "TOWN MILES" are much harder on a vehicle than "highway miles". Leases are a terrible idea, usually includes penalties for extra miles, and police cars put on many more miles than regular citizens due to extended use.
