Cedar Creek Realty's Doug Shinn Talks Driveway Slopes...
Arnold, CA...We had the chance to spend about an hour with Cedar Creek Realty's, Doug Shinn, talking about the CAL-FIRE 4290 ordinance and how Calaveras County's interpretation and enforcement is affecting property in our area. We posted a piece a few days ago with Doug and Barry Ward's report on the second stakeholder meeting that was held in San Andreas. In this interview Mr. Shinn goes in depth on the issue and how it currently affects property in the county...
One issue that jumped out at us is the enclosed chart provided by the SJB Consulting group on what the various grades actually look like. For example numerous county roads in our area which are exempt from this ordanince are themselves above the 21% slope. So under these rules some of the driveways served would need to be significantly flatter than the roads that serve them.
