Fire Update...Appaloosa Fire Now 250 Acres & 5% Contained, Widespread Power Outages)

Angels Camp, CA...Firefighters are working a reportedly 1 acre vegetation fire near Appaloosa Rd & Hunter St. Ground & air units are on the way or on scene now. Please use caution in the area...Update as of 1:08pm...now at 10-15 acres and heading upslope. More resources on the way....Update.as of 3:20pm..fire 75-100 acres, PG&E had to de-energize power transmission lines which contributed to wide spread power outages in our area. At last report from PG&E over 6,000 customers are without power with an estimated restoral time of after 5pm. It has reached the top of Bear Mountain and fire fighters are working structure protection as well. Sorry for the late update as data was down on Verizon as well. (Update as of 3:29pm...air attack has upped the estimated size of fire to the 200-250 acre size. ) Update as of 4:42pm...TCU Command has updated us that the fire is officially 250 acres and 5% contained...awaiting definitive information from PG&E
