Happy Ending To Search & Rescue Case

Pinecrest, CA...(A Happy Ending from the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept.) These boys, Jeremi and Mathew were in the area of ramble adventure above Cleo's bath in Pinecrest. Mark and Donna heard the boys talking as they hiked toward the summit and yelled out for help! Mathew and Jeremi went to Mark and Donna. Jeremi recognized LuLu through the pictures on social media and asked Mark and Donna if they were the lost hikers and if LuLu was their dog.

Mathew and Jeremi brought Mark and Donna to their camp and the boys mom Ilo and dad Eric gave them food and water and made sure they were ok. Mark and Donna used the family's cell phones to call friends and family and Eric called the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office to notify us that they had the missing hikers and he stayed on the line to give us additional information that we requested.
The family carried Mark and Donna's packs down to the water to meet the search and rescue team for transportation back to their family at the command post in Dodge Ridge. Mark, Donna, and LuLu were hungry and tired but in good spirits.

Thank you so much to this family who showed kindness and concern to care for Mark and Donna and for notifying our office immediately. We also want to thank our community for sharing and distributing their pictures and information!
As always, this is a team effort and we appreciate everyone coming together to help one another.
