May 24, 2015 - "California Fusion Sliders" at Marisolio - Join us for this entertaining class taught by Aubrey Hanshaw. We will learn how to make "sliders", the popular mini burgers. These delicious bites will be a huge hit when you serve them. Turkey Burgers with Pineapple Slaw, Beef Burgers with Spicy Pasilla Chile Aioli, and Salmon Burgers with Lemon Dill Caper Aioli. 10 AM and 6 PM sessions. May 25-June 30, 2016 - Manzanita Arts Emporium will host vignette set pieces from the Butte Fire “Pieces Project” for public view Wednesday through Monday, at its historic location at 1211 S. Main St., Suite 110, Angels Camp. Sponsored by the Calaveras and Amador County Arts Councils, and assembled by Murphys artist Robin Modlin and Mokelumne Hill artist Anne Cook, the ensembles of charred and transformed art pieces have been grouped into montage displays of after-fire relics donated by Butte Fire residents. Eight writers from the foothills and Pieces Project coordinators have contributed written vignettes and poems to honor and embellish the voices of the remains. May 28, 2016 – Guided Hikes in Big Trees State Park - North Grove Guided Tours – Guided walks of the North Grove are held on Saturday at 1 pm. The walk is 1.5 to 2 hours. Meet in front of the Visitor Center. Bring water and your comfortable shoes. When appropriate – the guided walk becomes a snowshoe walk. Snowshoes are provided. May 30, 2016 – Memorial Day Concert in Murphys Community Park - The 2016 music season in Murphys Community Park kicks-off when the Calaveras Community Band presents a special Memorial Day concert under the direction of conductor Mic Harper on Monday at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission charge for the program that will honor the men and women who have served in the armed forces in the past and those currently stationed around the world. The band, that traces its history to California’s gold rush days, will perform a mixture of patriotic songs, marches, jazz, Latin music, and even some instrumental opera. Bring a blanket, chair and a picnic dinner as food and drinks will not be sold in the Park.

May 31, 2016 – Scott Holiday at the Alchemy Winemakers Dinner - every Tuesday night from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Enjoy a featured wine and a great meal. As always, there is live music on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Call 209.728.0700 for reservations.
