What’s Happening in Murphys Through May 19, 2016

Murphys, CA...Art on Main will featuring the work of Martha Wallace during the month of May along with the works of guest artist, Juliana Tillman, new artist member, Pat Jennings, and glass artists, Chaos Glassworks. The gallery gets its’ periodic art change-out with all new work on display after May 3rd, 2016. Tuesdays in Murphys - Winemakers Night at Alchemy - every Tuesday night from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Enjoy a featured wine and a great meal. As always, there is live music on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Call 209.728.0700 for reservations. Fridays and Saturdays at Zucca Tasting Room - "Zucca After Hours" is open 5-8 pm. If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday or Saturday night, the Zucca garden is your place. We always welcome your picnic items or takeout from area restaurants should you want to make a night of it.

Saturdays in Murphys - Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Murphys are available at no charge (donations gratefully accepted) on Saturday mornings at 10am leaving from the Old Timers Museum. Please contact Jo Sanders at 209-728-3072 to confirm dates and times or make arrangements for large groups.

May 6 to May 15, 2016 - Maple & Fine at the Black Bart Playhouse - Jordan Harrisons play features an urban power couple who have become allergic to their 21st century lives. They meet a charismatic man from a community of 1950's reenactors and forsake their cell phones and sushi for cigarettes and tupperware parties. May 10, 2015 - "Downton Abbey Kitchen Delights" at Marisolio Tasting Room - Cathy Stroup will instruct this fun class with recipes inspired by the popular PBS TV show. Daisy's Potato Chips, Mrs Patmore's Tomato and Bacon Jam, Highclere Castle's White Bean Artichoke Aioli, Lady Sybil's Truffled Mac and Cheese, and Lady Mary's Baked Brie. 10 AM and 6 PM sessions. May 14, 2016 – The Dustbowl Revival at Twisted Oak Winery - The Dustbowl Revival is what you could call an American roots orchestra with eight full-time members — and they play it all, mashing the sounds of traditional American music into a genre-hopping, time-bending dance party that coaxes new fire out of familiar coal. May 15, 2016 - Native Sons of the Golden West Monthly Breakfast - Chispa Parlor #139 of the Native Sons of the Golden West will serve an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at the Native Sons Hall from 7:30 to 11:30 am. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate will be served. The breakfast is served on the third Sunday of each month.
