Leadership Calaveras County Class Needs Your Input! Get those surveys In!!
Angels Camp, CA...The 2007/2008 Leadership Calaveras Class needs your input. This year's class is working on improving Broadband Internet Access in the county. A previous years class as you may recall, chose as their project the need for a new jail. It was their work that really got the ball rolling and highlighted the need for a new jail facility. This years class has targeted the significant need for improving broadband access. Broadband is becoming a fundamental tool not only for business but in our personal lives as well. They are asking input from Businesses, Tourists and Residential users....

Broadband is a significant key in keeping Calaveras County competitive in the global marketplace. People and businesses in most metropolitan areas now expect immediate access and response from those they do business with.
If we as a rural county can provide the same level of coverage for our residents, it will ensure that even though we me be somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle physically, our residents and businesses remain competitive.
It also is becoming increasingly important for visitors to our county. If they know that they can take care of business and still enjoy what our area has to offer, they are much more likely to visit, extend their stays and increase revenue for our local economy.
Please take the time to fill out these questionaires and return by email to tutthill@sbglobal.net or fax to 209-728-8182

The Leadership Calaveras Class is made up of leading business and civic leaders in the county. More from the Calaveras Chambers website...
"The Community Leadership program was conceived in 1996 following discussions between the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce and Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital. Both entities recognized that, in order to preserve and enhance Calaveras' quality of life, careful planning and cultivation of new leaders was essential.
Leadership Calaveras is an interaction and learning program bringing men and women from throughout Calaveras County together to develop leadership qualities, and to identify and explore local issues and needs.
Class participants are nominated by their employers or request consideration. Class members are carefully selected to represent business, government, education, agriculture, health and welfare, the arts, finance, industry and volunteer interests. Work and residence in Calaveras County is preferred."
