Calaveras Humane Society Welcome Four New Board Members

San Andreas, CA...Four new active community members from the county have been elected to the Calaveras Humane Society Board of Directors. The new members, Allen, Dawn, Jamie and JoAnn, bring a wealth of expertise in finance, organizational development and leadership to support the Calaveras Humane Society with our mission to promote excellent quality of life for the animals of our county. “The diverse set of ideas and knowledge the new board members bring to the Calaveras Humane Society are essential to our continued focus on being a top quality inclusive organization,” said the organization’s Executive Director, Anne Ellis. “I look forward to Allen, Dawn, Jamie and JoAnn contributing to the continued success of our organization”. Anne went on to say. ” The Calaveras Humane Society Board of Directors is a select group of individuals, from a variety of backgrounds, responsible for setting policy and overseeing the organization's general wellbeing.”
The four newly elected board members include:

Allen Dodson, Treasurer – Dodson has been involved with various volunteer activities within Calaveras Humane Society for several years. Allen brings a unique set of financial skills to the board. He has extensive experience with Limited Liability Corporation and California property tax laws and experience as Treasurer and board member with a non-profit organization. Allen lives in Murphys and shares his life with his wife and rescue cats.
Dawn LaPlante, Member –LaPlante has a strong desire to be involved in the community and experience in Human Resources and project and change management will prove invaluable as Calaveras Humane Society navigates the challenges of building a new shelter. Dawn will bring a welcome perspective with her vast experience. She is proud to be a part of the organization. Dawn has a home in Arnold and is the proud “parent” of two rescue dogs.

Jamie Leigh , Member – Leigh brings a unique set of skills and experience to the Board. She was Chair for the Southwest Riverside County Rape Crisis Board. Jamie has been an Executive Director to a number of non-profit organizations and Manager for Human Resources for profit companies and at county level government. Her professional experiences are a perfect fit for our non-profit as we work with county government in a partnership on the new shelter. Jamie has rescue animals and is from the Mountain Ranch community.
JoAnn Kromfols, VP of Marketing – Kromfols, a previous Board Member and current Electronic Communications Team Lead. JoAnn returns to the Board at a critical time. Her organizational and analytical experience will prove invaluable as Calaveras Humane Society moves into a new phase for the organization, the capital campaign and building of a new shelter. JoAnn lives in the Valley Springs area with her husband and her rescue dogs and cats.

More about the Calaveras Humane Society founded in 1978.
 We are a local non-profit organization. Our challenge is local animal welfare, not animal rights.
 The Calaveras Humane Society relies on local donations and does not accept funding from, nor support from, national animal rights organizations or humane societies.
 We are a volunteer group of citizens who care about the destiny and comfort of companion animals. We try to pick up where the county government leaves off.
