Classical Revolution Comes to Petroglyphe Sunday Fine Art Concert Series on May 31

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Classical Revolution Presents the SOUND UNDERGROUND JAZZ TRIO at Petroglyphe Gallery on Sunday, May 31. Talking about a revolution . . . Sound Underground Jazz Trio is revolutionizing the music world. Classical Revolution got its start at San Francisco’s Revolution Café. It has since become a “movement”, spanning 30 cities, now making its way to the Sierra Foothills via Petroglyphe Gallery. The trio is composed of guitar, trumpet and alto saxophone, plus woodwinds. These innovative young men have been globetrotting their fresh sound to an international audience. Their collaboration began as roommates studying at the Frost School of Music in Miami and continues today...

"These young stars have a fire-in-the-belly passion for music that is apparent in their soulful performance, and shows wisdom beyond their years." - Mimi Fox, jazz guitarist

Guitarist, Jonah Udall is native of Berkeley, California. He is an eclectic bandleader, composer and guitarist, often found collaborating with songwriters, arranging for large ensembles, or exploring Balkan folk music in addition to his jazz work. His journey through music, which began with Stevie Wonder, has brought him broad influences, from Jim Hall to Joni Mitchell.

Alec Aldred is originally from Waukesha, WI, and is a trumpet/flugelhorn player influenced by trumpet greats including Clifford Brown, Freddie Hubbard, and Tom Harrell. In addition to his musical endeavors, Alec performs and competes with dance teams in tap, jazz, and hip hop styles.

David Leon is a saxophonist, woodwinds player, and composer born and raised in Miami, FL. Locally, he leads a busy gigging schedule performing both as a leader and sideman. His work as a composer and improviser has been recognized by Downbeat Magazine, the ASCAP Foundation, and the National YoungArts Foundation.

Renner Winery is the featured vintner for this performance, offering wine tasting and Petroglyphe will be serving appetizers for your enjoyment. The Renner Tasting Room is in the heart of Murphys and the lush vineyard is situated just ten minutes away on a beautiful peninsula overlooking New Melones Reservoir.

Upcoming performances for the Petroglyphe Sunday Fine Art Concert Series include:

Alex de Grassi — Finger-Style Guitarist on August 16 . . . Newsome-Harlow Wine Tasting

Ancora Trio—Two Flutes and a Cello Feminine Ensemble on September 27 . . . Ayrael Vieux Wine Tasting
