Temporary Verizon Wireless Outage In Calaveras County

Sonora, CA...Golden State Cellular service may be intermittently unavailable in parts of Calaveras County between April 9 and April 17, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Verizon Wireless apologizes for the inconvenience as they begin transferring traffic from Golden State Cellular onto the Verizon Wireless network. Please note that this does not change the service activation date of April 25, 2015 for Golden State Cellular customers transitioning to Verizon. Customers SHOULD NOT ACTIVATE their new Verizon device prior to 7:00 a.m. on April 25, 2015. For more information, please visit www.goldenstatecellular.com/. Customer service information for GSC customers is below...

Since the acquisition in June 2014, Verizon Wireless has been addressing network coverage and capacity needs in the former Golden State Cellular territory. The work has entailed upgrading cell sites and identifying areas that need added network infrastructure. Once the transition is complete, Verizon Wireless customers in the area will notice improved service and the network reliability Verizon is known for. The work will be ongoing in the area, as Verizon strives to improve coverage and add capacity and advanced services like 4G LTE and XLTE.
