Mark Your Calenders for Chairs for Charity January 31st
San Andreas, CA...San Andreas Town Hall is, again, the venue for 2015’s event. Attendees will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner, catered by The Pickle Patch. A no-host bar will feature a special signature drink. Live and silent auctions will keep you entertained and an outstanding assortment of valuable raffle items will be available to choose from. We encourage you to participate in raucous rounds of Xtreme Musical Chairs. Admission is $25 – advance ticket sales only....
Sponsoring and hosting Chairs for Charity 2015 are Calaveras Arts Council and Soroptimist International of Calaveras County. Broad ranges of artworks are encouraged. Past entries have included benches, photography of chairs, ceramics, quilting pieces, children’s high and rocking chairs and chairs featuring live plants. The sky is truly the limit.
What a great opportunity for Calaveras County non-profit groups, schools, individuals or organizations to make a little extra cash! Professional artists and community groups receive 40% of the auction price. Put your creative thinking caps on and provide the most unique chair, stool, bench, or artistic chair-like design possible. Judges will choose the “Top Ten” to be sold via live auction.
Only 30 total entries will be accepted. As of this date, we already have 11 entries. Some of the entries’ names are: “Waiting for a Kiss”, “Throne”, “Take a Load Off”, “Got Milk?”, “Graffiti Afghan”, “Ride ‘em Cowboy”, “Sunflower Shine” and “Bows and Arrows”. Entries must be delivered to the Arts Council Gallery no later than January 12, 2015.
