November 20, 2014 - Wines of the World at the Murphys Historic Hotel - The Calaveras WineGrape Alliance teaches us about French wines from the Beaujolais Region just in time for cooler weather. November 27, 2014 - The Klassen family presents the 8th Annual Klassen Klassic Turkey Trot at Murphys Community Park with registration starting at 8 am and the race at 9 am. The event consists of a road race-open to serious runners, as well as walkers, joggers, kids, strollers, and dogs. Two distances are available, a 2.5 mile as well as a 5. Both courses start and end at the Murphys park. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable canned food item as their registration fee.
November 28, 2014 - Cioppino Night at the Murphys Historic Hotel - If you are not in the mood for leftover Turkey Dinner, we can serve you a bottomless portion of Cioppino, green salad and garlic bread for $25 per person, and we are sure you will bring an appetite since you practiced the night before! November 28, 2014 - Wine Night at Irish Family Vineyards - Every 2nd and 4th Friday, the tasting room will stay open until 8pm. Fire pit starts at 5pm. Purchase wine by the bottle or by the glass and hang out by the fire. Light appetizers are also available.
November 28 through December 21, 2014 - A Christmas Carol at the Black Bart Playhouse - Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol is presented this holiday season in Murphys at 580 S Algiers Street at the Black Bart Playhouse by Murphys Creek Theatre. Directed by Cyndie Hoffman-Klorer this talented cast brings this story of light, goodness and charity to the foothills. A Christmas Carol runs November 28th-December 21st Friday and Saturday Nights at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.murphyscreektheatre.org, by calling 209-728-8422 or at the theater box office Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 2pm-6pm. Open Seating starts 1/2 hour before each show.
Save the Date: December 5, 2014 - Murphys Open House - Every year on the first Friday in December, Murphys celebrates the holiday season with a community Open House from 5 to 8 pm. Admission is free, the streets are closed and we are ready to celebrate the season. Open House is a great time to peruse Murphys’ wonderful shops, tasting rooms and restaurants, see what’s new, visit with old friends and make sure Santa has your wishlist. Businesses, groups or individuals who would like to be part of the parade should contact Jenny Baxter at 209-736-0567 to reserve their spot. There is no fee to participate.
