Terry Wayne Guyton 1946 - 2014

Mountain Ranch, CA...Longtime Mountain Ranch resident, Terry Wayne Guyton, died on Monday November 3, 2014 at age 68. Terry was born in Los Angeles on June 20, 1946. He grew up in a military family spending his childhood in various parts of the world.Terry settled down in the Bay Area where he went to high school and then earned a Bachelors degree at San Jose Stale in Recreational Therapy. He then went on become a police officer in San Jose where we was unfortunately forced into early retirement due to an injury. Terry moved to Mountain Ranch in 2000. Here he spent time enjoying family and friends, riding rnotorcycles, traveling with his wife and fixing things in his workshop...

Terry is survived by his wife and daughters.

- Nicki
Dad had the biggest heart and was the rnost loving and supportive man a daughter could have
in her life.

- Jillian
Dad loved so strongly, and was one of the most versatile people. lt takes an amazing man to
accept us all in. I love you.

- Tori
My dad, Terry was a multi-faceted man. Most important to me, he was my daddy. There are
some parents who are destined to be excellent at certain tirnes in a child's life. He was an
exceptional parent to his adult children. Terry was an adult child and kept the art of both, trying
new things and trying my mama's patience, alive. He would stay awake all night watching old
movies then complain about wasting the day. Dad would sit down for lunch and proceed to
consume an entire jar of sauerkraut claiming it was beeause it just tasted so good. Every time I
came to visit, dad would buy the largest party platter of shrimp available for just the two of us to
eat. But of course, no store bought cocktail sauce would do. Only his special recipe, handmade,
fresh, would sutfice for our consumption,

He was the dad that picked you up from school
on his Harley Davidson. When we were sick, he always bought donuts because they make you
feel better. Daddy would make himself a bowl of soup but the bowl was a medium mixing bowl
which contained an entire can of soup- When he ate his food it had to be a million degrees,
literally steaming (the temperature that would scald any mere mortal). Daddy loved the dogs
that shared his life; Chris and Oreo. You could recognize my dad by his daily routine of jumping
in his old burnt orange truck, with Oreo in the passenger seat, as they drove down to the local
general store/lurnber yard for yet another piece of pipe, screws or wood. Dad's favorite hat was
that brown lndiana Jones looking hat that he wore all the time with absolutely no fashion sense
whatsoever. He would ask for us to buy him T-shirts from all over the world as we travelled and
lived and would proceed to give my mama a ftt with the hundreds of unused, never worn shirts
he possessed.

Daddy loved riding his motorcycle. He would spend days on end in his shop
doing who knows what. Since he spent most of his time out in that shop, I dedicated holiday
gifts to "sprucing up" his ginormous man cave. He loved these gifts and would gloat about
them. Dad loved loud! Loud music, loud TV loud guns, and loud cars. He was a retired
detective so you could always count on him for a few good cop stories. Daddy was one of those
men that truly loved his family, his country, and his friends. When he committed, he was ALL in.
My dad was truly interested in every aspect of your life, even the uninteresting part. He was
genuine. He may have talked your ear off but he always seemed to know what to say. ll
nothing else, he was always there! No matter what My daddy loved my mama to a fault. They
say good intentions pave the road to hell and at times, my dad was full o{ good intentions. Terry
Guyton was the perfect combination of rnan, child, cop, lover, dog owner, motor cycle rider, and
dad. He wilt forever be loved and tuly missed. Good bye daddy.- Kate
