In Loving Memory of James "Jim" Edward Stone, 1951~2014

Sonora, CA....James “Jim” Edward Stone, 63, Passed away on October 31, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Jim was born on May 12, 1951 in Sonora, CA. to Jim and Opal Stone. He was raised in Copperopolis and Murphys California and attended Calaveras High School. He worked for Linebaugh Logging right out of school then at Mt. Reba/Bear Valley Ski Resort for 23 years before moving to Jackson Montana where he and his wife owned Jackson Mercantile for several years. The last 13 years Jim worked for The Big Hole National Battlefield and retired last year....


Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, race cars and spending time in the mountains. He also loved being with family and close friends. He is survived by his wife Christine and their dog Maggie, Sisters Pebble delMas (Buzz) of Napa and Sandy Davis (Bob) of Sonora. Daughter Deanna Byrne (Tom), Son Nathan Stone (Jessie), Grandchildren- Peyton and J.T. Byrne. Step-daughter Kelly Weible (Michael), Step-Son Carlos DeVitis (Emily), Grandchildren Joshua and Caleb Weible and Gabriel, Anna, Dominic and Anthony DeVitis. Sisters Pebble delMas (Buzz) of Napa and Sandy Davis (Bob) of Sonora.

A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 8th 1:00 pm at 10301 Slate Rim Road Sonora, CA. 95370
