Calaveras County, CA....On behalf of the Friends of Calaveras Animal Services (FOCAS), thank you for coming out and supporting our recent yard sale in Valley Springs. With your generous donations, the event raised close to $2,000 to help our animal shelter. Imagine such good could come out of simply cleaning out our attics and garages! We would especially like to thank Jeff and Jamie Davidson, for allowing the use of their lot for the sale. ....
We would also acknowledge the fine media coverage and advertising provided by the Amador Ledger Dispatch, the Calaveras Enterprise, myMotherLode.com, thepinetree.net, the Sierra Lodestar, the Union Democrat and Valley Springs News.
FOCAS members are working hard to better the quality of care provided for homeless animals by upgrading and replacing outdated infrastructure at our county shelter. Recently, we negotiated the acquisition of two surplus school portables which will be used to separately house cats and free up some space for the dogs at the shelter. Having separate cat and dog facilities is a first for our county with the goal being less stress on the animals translating to less stress-related disease, less euthanasia and healthier, more adoptable pets.
FOCAS and the animal shelter could not accomplish what they do without the generous support of a caring community. Whether you shopped, donated items, provided snacks or manpower, thank you again for your continued commitment to the animals.
