Hospice of the Sierra Offers Training for New Volunteers
Sonora, CA....Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra is offering training for anyone interested in becoming a hospice volunteer. The orientation and training session will occur on October 23, 2014 from 1 to 5pm in Sonora. Volunteers will learn how to provide support and respite care for patients and families. There are volunteer opportunities to support people in their grief journey, or to provide clerical support in the office....
“Our volunteers are an important part of the hospice team,” says Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Shauna Burrow. “They can find gratifying and stimulating work with patients and families going through a difficult time in their lives.”
