October at Deborah Marlene's
Calaveras County, CA....Deborah Marlene just participated in the Artists Studio Tour sponsored by the Calaveras County Arts Council. "It was a wonderful event and very well attended", says Deborah. "The attendance was slightly above last years tour, here in Mokelumne Hill. The event drew locals and many visitors to our County and I do want to thank the Arts Council for all the organization and publicity. I also Celebrated. ....
with fellow townspeople and friends, my First Year in Business, on Sunday, September 28th. Sue of Renegade Winery poured their wonderful wines which proved to be a wonderful complement to grilled Lockford sausages and vegetables. All present snacked, tasted the wines, and had a great time."
I know that we are all so very happy to welcome the change of season, along with the much needed rains. This October brings a full gallery of Fall Color to Deborah Marlene's. This month, Deborah will be changing things up a bit. "I have so enjoyed having hosted 12 different artists over this last year. It did require a lot of work with data entry and other preparations, which does not use the side of the brain that I normally love to work in. For this reason, I am breaking from the norm for a couple of months."
This month, Deborah will feature an entire gallery of Fall Colors. "One of my favorite seasons is Autumn and the beautiful change of colors that we experience here in Calaveras County. Watercolor, in particular, is amazing to use, to paint beautiful fall leaves. The luminosity and color combinations that you can float across the paper can look almost like the real thing. I have painted many Fall Leaves and still have not tired of the subject matter."
Additionally, Deborah is offering Watercolor Painting Classes. "My studio is small so class size is limited to 2 students per session. I love to share my knowledge and excitement in using this medium." Classes are tailored to each individual's skill level. October classes will begin next week. Class days will be on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Currently, the Monday class is full. If you are interested in taking on the excitement of learning watercolor, or already know a bit and just want to get back to it; give Deborah a call at 209 753-8507.
Deborah Marlene's Studio and Gallery is located at 8242 Main Street in Mokelumne Hill. Gallery hours are Thursday-Mondays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
