Sierra Pacific Industries Urges Caution to Forest Users due to High Fire Danger
Anderson, CA – Sierra Pacific Industries issued the following statement today to caution forest users about the high fire danger in California’s forests: We are experiencing a very high fire danger situation in California due to extremely dry and windy conditions throughout the state. This Saturday (September 20th) is the opening of deer hunting season in California...
and we urge all those who plan to hunt on company lands to be cautious and comply with SPI’s recreational use policy which prohibits camping or fires (see http://www.spi-ind.com/forests_recreation_access.aspx on the SPI web site for more details).
Wildfires cause tremendous damage to resources, water, and wildlife. We do our best to avoid fires, but current drought conditions pose a higher risk than normal. That’s why we urge all forest users to exercise extreme caution this year whether you are hunting, fishing, hiking or visiting the forests.
