New Surgeon Recruited to Join Mark Twain Medical Center

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) announces it has recruited Dr. Andrew C. McCoy to San Andreas, where he will provide surgical services for the Tri-County area. Dr. Andrew C. McCoy has joined the San Andreas-based Silver Oak Medical Office (SOMO) with Dr.’s Peter Oliver, Dean Kelaita, Shane Patterson, Sarah Grimes and Physician Assistant Ken Romans. “Dr. McCoy is a welcome addition to the communities growing health care needs,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “MTMC is committed to providing more and more needed services to the residents of Calaveras County and beyond. Dr. McCoy and his family are a great fit with our community and vision for Calaveras County.”


Dr. Andrew C. McCoy




Dr. Andrew McCoy earned his medical degree from University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, ND. Dr. McCoy completed his Internship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; followed by General Surgery residency at University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Grand Forks, ND. He obtained his Fellowship in an advanced GI and Laparoscopic Fellowship Program at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He is board eligible.

“We are delighted and thankful to have Dr. McCoy join our practice. He adds strength and diversity to our surgical services,” commented SOMO’s Dr. Peter Oliver, adding “He is available to provide endoscopy and surgical care to new and existing patients as a community based General Surgeon at our medical office.”

“I have lived most of my life in rural communities and have sought out every opportunity to do my medical education in rural communities,” remarked Dr. McCoy. “ I know the importance of being able to receive first class care close to home and loved ones. I feel that we at SOMO along with MTMC can provide this care for the people of Calaveras County. “

Dr. McCoy and his family are excited about living Calaveras county and reside in Angels Camp.
