Happenings at the Murphys Historic Hotel....September, the Month of Crushes!

Murphys, CA...With the cooler weather coming, it means we need to find indoor activities in the future, but let's enjoy some of these upcoming events before the rain and snow season (we hope)! In our busy little area, large trucks with bins full of grapes are headed to the vineyards for crush, making way for more great wines! ....

Friday the 5th: The final Music in the Park in Murphys Park for the Year, presented by the Murphys Business Association. Chains Required will be playing great music with food for purchase from Murphys Catering, or you can bring a picnic dinner, lawn chairs and dancing shoes. It starts at 5:30pm and food tickets are limited so get there early for great food and seats.

And if you haven't heard yet... The Season Finale of Hotel Hell with Gordon Ramsey is featuring the Murphys Historic Hotel on Tuesday the 9th on the Fox Channel at 9pm. We will be showing it on every TV in the building. So remember 9-9-9; September 9th at 9pm!

Thursday the 11th: Dorian Faught will be presenting Double Gold Medal Award Winners from the California State Fair for the Wines of the World. Dorian will be pouring stellar whites and reds starting at 5:30pm in the Mark Twain Banquet Room, please RSVP to Sara Reed at the Calaveras WineGrape Alliance for this event by calling 209-728-9467

Thursday the 18th: Our parking lot will be filled with shiny beauties for the Classic Car Show from 5pm to 8pm, with music and a raffle. Come on down, we will have food available for purchase.

Friday the 26th: The Last Friday of a Month with an "R" in it (hint, hint) means Cioppino is back! In addition to our regular menu we will have All You Can Eat garlic toast, green salad, and tomatoe-y Cioppino. Reservations are recommended, so call one of our wonderful ladies at the Front Desk for your seat today.

Saturday and Sunday the 27th and 28th: Ironstone hosts their Annual Concours d'Elegance, showing some rare and beautiful classic cars. Don't miss it!
October In Advance

As always, the first Saturday of October is GRAPE STOMP!

Saturday the 4th is a day full of costumed stompers, in quarter finals to win bragging rights for the next year. A craft market type scene plays out on Main Street, with Store Owners hosting sales and specials all day, rain or shine!

A similar event takes place on Main Street in Angels Camp for 'Gold Rush Days' on Saturday, October 18th from 11am to 5pm, just without the Stomping of Grapes. Craft Vendors, Wineries, and Music line the streets for those to enjoy and re-live the history of a Gold Rush Town!

Friday the 31st: Halloween and Cioppino, there is a God! Add a little 'All You Can Eat' and some 'Live Music', and it's a perfect recipe for a memorable night!
