Archie Lee Barnett Sr. 1942 - 2014
Angels Camp – Archie Lee Barnett Sr., born on April 1, 1942 passed away on August 6, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Archie was born to Nancy and Luther Barnett in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and was raised in Angels Camp, California. Archie was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather who was passionate about spending time with all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made it a point to never miss an event whether it were a game, birthday, or performance and cherished his time with his family....
Archie is survived by his wife of 53 years Garlene Barnett, Children: Chip (Wanda) Barnett, Abrina (Don) Micetich, Luke (Sandy) Barnett and Dawnelle (Tim) Ballard. As well as his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren: Sarah, Mitchelle, AJ, Bailey, Alex, Anthony, Spenser, Taylor, Jared, Payton, Ava and Nora. Siblings: Paulyne Bacoccini, Ray (Diane) Barnett, Joyce (Ron) Lopez, Jay (Colleen) Barnett, Ed (Ginny) Barnett and Bob Barnett, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Archie took pride in and will be remembered for serving his community both through his career at the Altaville Market and Angels Food Market and as a dedicated Coach. He loved his community and served selflessly where he took pride in every person he had the honor to coach. Archie always chose to see the good in everyone and dedicated his life to improving those around him. He took pride in shaping the lives of the youth through sports. He was a pillar in our community and was proud to be one of the founding coaches for the AMA.
He will be remembered as a gentle, genuine, strong and loving man. His presence will be greatly missed but his memory will live on through the hearts of his family and community.
Memorial will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the Bret Harte High School Lower Gym at 3:00 PM. Reception will follow. If you wish to make a donation we ask that you donate to Bret Harte High School Track and Field in Archie’s name.
