Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) Awards the Beth Childs/Genna Hurst Scholarship

San Andreas, Ca...The Beth E. Childs/ Genna Hurst Renewable Scholarship administered by the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) was presented to Cody Church during the Senior Awards Assembly at Calaveras High School in early June 2014. Cody is the son of Mark & Tammy Church who reside in West Point. His college plans will begin at Folsom Lake College with his more advanced courses at Sacramento State. Psychiatry is Cody’s chosen field of study with a minor in Business Management. During his high school years, Cody has been a member of the CHS speech and debate team, a member of the ski and snowboard club and participated in swimming and water polo. Cody was the Lumberjack King this past year. The scholarship committee considers Cody to be a responsible young man who found time to work two part-time jobs during his junior and senior years at CHS...

Cody states: “Thank you for choosing me as the winner of the Beth Childs/Genna Hurst Renewable Scholarship. It means a great deal to me knowing that people in this community support the future generations and their educations. This scholarship will lift a great burden off my shoulders knowing that my books and a percentage of my tuition has been paid for the first four years of my education.
Now my time and energy can be spent on my education instead of worrying about how I will pay for it all.”

This scholarship is a 4-year $4,000 renewable scholarship and awarded annually to a graduating student residing in the West Point/ Wilseyville area.
