Free Small Business Tax Seminar in Rancho Cordova
Sacramento, Ca – Business owners, entrepreneurs, and individuals who would like to start a business and learn how to comply with California’s complex tax laws are invited to attend a free small business tax seminar in Rancho Cordova on Thursday, July 10, 2014. California State Board of Equalization (BOE) Member George Runner is sponsoring this event with Senator Jim Nielsen, Assemblymember Ken Cooley, the City of Rancho Cordova, the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, and the Slavic American Chamber of Commerce. Those looking for assistance with state and federal tax laws, as well as those who want to expand their business knowledge, will benefit from presentations given by representatives from the BOE, Employment Development Department, Franchise Tax Board, Small Business Development Center, Small Business Administration, and the Internal Revenue Service. Seminar topics include creating a winning business plan, avoiding sales and use tax problems, forms of ownership, better business through better records, loan programs and services, and employee or independent contractor....

Elected in November 2010, George Runner represents the State Board of Equalization's Second District. He is a leading advocate for California taxpayers. The five-member California State Board of Equalization (BOE) is a publicly elected tax board. The BOE collects $56 billion annually in taxes and fees supporting state and local government services. It hears business tax appeals, acts as the appellate body for franchise and personal income tax appeals, and serves a significant role in the assessment and administration of property taxes.
