Play for the Cure at Black Oak Casino Resort Raises $10,000 for Cancer Research

Tuolumne, Ca...Black Oak Casino Resort has presented a check for $10,000 to the American Cancer Society to help fight cancer and fund research. The money was raised by the Resort's Play for the Cure event, which was a free $3,000 slot tournament, with Black Oak Casino Resort donating $1 for every player that registered. In addition, Black Oak Lanes sold $1 cut-outs of bowling pins and bowling balls with donors' names, with the money going to the Play for the Cure event. "We're very pleased that we hit our goal of raising $10,000 for the American Cancer Society as we feel it's important to give back to the community and support non-profit organizations," said Ron Patel, General Manager of Black Oak Casino Resort. "The last time we held this event in 2012, we also raised $10,000 for cancer research, and we want to thank everyone who participated." Black Oak Casino Resort General Manager Ron Patel presented the $10,000 check to American Cancer Society Relay for Life Tuolumne County Event Chair Mary Freer.
