Medical Center Adds Board-Certified Family Medicine Doctor

Sonora, Ca...Sonora Regional Medical Center welcomes Jason Jeffery, MD, a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician who joined the hospital physician team and began accepting new patients June 1st. Dr. Jeffery graduated from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degrees in Biology and was awarded the DeHaan Work Award. He also received the Science Division Work Award from Canadian University College. Dr. Jeffery earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Southern California and performed his residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he received the Resident Consultant of the Year Award. Dr. Jeffery admits his path to medicine was unique. While obtaining his Master’s in Biology, Dr. Jeffery spent a great deal of time researching the neurobiology of crickets and found he wanted to work with people. He then discovered and settled on Internal Medicine. “I love the outpatient side because of the continuity of care,” says Dr. Jeffery. “I also enjoy being able to be a part of a patient’s long term healing.”...

He views his physician style as a partnership. “A doctor’s role is to work with the patient,” says Dr. Jeffery. “I want to share advice and recommendations in order to maximize the patient’s health as best we can together and to make a difference by connecting the patient with the resources they need to be healthy.”

Sonora’s community is a good match for Dr. Jeffery’s family’s need. “We were looking for a great community where we could grow and develop as a family.” Originally from Canada, Dr. Jeffery is especially excited about the clean air and starry nights ahead with his wife and four-month old baby girl. He enjoys amateur photography, playing hockey in recreational leagues and spending time with his family. Dr. Jeffery is also a road cyclist and most recently completed the Tour de Tahoe, a 72-mile ride along the shoreline of Lake Tahoe.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Jeffery, please call 209-536-5060.
