June at Deborah Marlenes

Mokelumne Hill, Ca...As we turn from Spring to Summer we have many exciting happenings here at Deborah Marlenes. The days are longer and the flowers out front are a must to see. Inside the Gallery is cool and you are invited to come and see the ever changing display of local art. "I have truly enjoyed hosting and getting to know different artists for eight months now", says Deborah. " My Mission is to showcase local artists and artisans and I am currently booked with guest Artists through October. If you are a local Artist and interested in joining the gallery as an "Artist Friend of the Month", you are welcome to stop in with samples of your work. This month Deborah is welcoming Sherrie Palmer as her Artist Friend of the Month. Sherrie moved to Arnold from Concord in 2003, and now resides in Arnold with her husband Lyle. She is a past President of the Arts of Bear Valley and a Certified Oil Painting instructor. Sherrie has participated in art classes in community college and workshops in Vallejo, CA, Portland, OR, and Murphys. She has taken workshops from such local notables as Jill Figler, Carolyn Macpherson, Jeannie Vodden and has attended Watercolor Classes with Martha Wallace and Oil Painting classes with Judy Cain; all of whom are talented Motherlode Artists...

Sherrie feels that "the Sierra Mountains inspire the artist in everyone. The skies, sunset, wildflowers, and the stars so close at night; God's beauty is everywhere you look". Sherrie paints in a vibrant style and has a wonderful display of watercolors, oil giclees and cards at Deborah Marlene's this month. It is Free to look and enjoy her wonderful collection.

A meet the Artist Reception will be held this coming Saturday, the first Saturday of the month, from 1PM to 4PM. The public is invited to attend. Deborah Marlene's is located in the Historic town of Mokelumne Hill, at 8242 Main Street, it is the first business on the right side of the street as you exit off of Highway 49.

Gallery hours are 10AM to 5PM on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 10AM to 4PM on Sundays. You are invited to stop in any time. You may even find Deborah painting or a class in progress. To find out more about classes you may stop by the Gallery or call 209 753-8507.
