Arnold Water Leak Will Affect Fire Station, Library
Arnold, CA...A leak in a water transmission line under Blagen Road in Arnold was reported at around 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 21. Water will be turned off in the area until Calaveras County Water District crews repair the pipe. The Arnold Branch Library, Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District station, Arnold Pet Clinic, Sierra Meadows Apartments and a few homes will be without water until the leak is fixed. Water service to the area is expected to resume between 3 and 5 p.m. Wednesday. Those with additional questions may call 754-3543 or visit ccwd.org.
General District Information
The District includes all of Calaveras County in the Central Sierra Nevada foothills in the northeastern portion of the State. The District boundaries encompass approximately 640,000 acres of land ranging from the San Joaquin Valley to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
San Andreas, the County seat, is approximately 100 miles east of San Francisco and 60 miles southeast of Sacramento. The city of Angels Camp is the only incorporated community in the County. The population of the County as of January 2009 is estimated by the California Department of Finance, Demographic Research Unit, to be approximately 46,000, with most of the residents living within the various unincorporated communities.
The District currently provides water service to approximately 12,800 municipal and residential / commercial customers in four improvement districts located throughout the County. The District currently provides sewer service to approximately 4,500 customers in six improvement districts located throughout the County.
