Division One Golf Tournament Visits Greenhorn
Angels Camp, CA....The American Sky Golf Conference Championships called Greenhorn Creek home for 2014. The whole Greenhorn creek team upped their game to attract and get the course ready for some of Golf's young guns to hit our local fairways, greens and even once and awhile the rough. The course was lengthened and prepped for the event and judging from the response of some of the visiting teams from as far away as upstate New York it passed with flying colors...
Sacramento State came into the event being the favorite, but after the first day in the pouring down rain they fell back of Northern Colorado by 9 strokes. Northern Colorado was able to increase the lead up to 18 strokes after day two and no team could catch them.
Northern Colorado became the 2014 America Sky Conference Champions and these teams will now be going into the Big Sky Conference next year. The Lowest 18 hole score was a 69 and the lowest three day total was even par. Greenhorn Creek proved it could hold its own as a collegiate championship golf course.
