Those initial funds benefited several Calaveras County community groups and organizations. Sober Grad Night Foundation was the recipient of a $1,000 donation. This event involved both Bret Harte and Calaveras High School students. Calaveras 4 Teen Center received a check for $250. Calaveras Mentoring Foundation was a beneficiary of $250. Bronze Level Sponsorship was chosen by Black Oak Casino Resort in support of the first-ever Calaveras Family Fest event in the amount of $1,000. What a clear illustration that Black Oak Casino Resort is seriously committed to support local community causes in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.
Ron Patel, Black Oak Casino Resort’s General Manager states, “The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians Tribal Council has a special interest in non-profit efforts and individuals in Calaveras County who are seeking financial support. It is our goal, in working with the Foundation, to be able to assist many worthwhile causes in Calaveras that would otherwise go unassisted.” Calaveras Community Foundation salutes Black Oak Casino Resort for their generous support in 2013 of these many worthwhile projects in Calaveras County. The Calaveras Community Foundation is a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization.
