Paul Stein to Moderate April 16 District 3 Candidates Forum in Murphys

Murphys, CA ... Former County Supervisor Paul Stein will moderate a forum featuring Mike Borean, Merita Callaway, and Mike Oliveira, the three candidates hoping to serve District 3 residents as their County Supervisor for the next four years. Organized by the Murphys Community Club and the Murphys Business Association, the Town Hall Meeting will be held in the Native Sons Hall on Wednesday, April 16 starting at 7 p.m.The Native Sons of the Golden West Hall is located at 389 Main St., Murphys, CA. During the forum, each candidate will make short opening and closing statements. They will be asked a series of questions by Stein, and there will be questions posed by members of the audience....

Stein is replacing Joel Metzger who recently resigned as editor of the Calaveras Enterprise and is no longer available. “Paul certainly knows the county issues, and has moderated many forums such as ours,” said Sue Friedman, Murphys Community Club president. “We very much appreciate his willingness to take on this assignment. We look forward to a lively discussion.”

Stein was elected Supervisor of District 2 in 1997 and served two terms. He was Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in 1999 and 2003.
