Amador Student Music Fund Music Calendar April 2014

Amador County, CA ...The Amador Student Music Fund announced the April line-up of performances. This Saturday, April 5, features Johnny Winter an American blues guitarist best known for his high-energy blues and rock albums through the 1960's and 1970's. . He takes to the Grand Oak Ballroom Stage, Jackson, CA, at 7 p.m. After signing with Columbia records in 1969, Winter developed his own take on classic blues with a Texan twist. While recording nearly 40 albums and playing himself, Johnny Winter also produced three Grammy Award winning albums for blues legend Muddy Waters. Those albums served as Muddy Waters' comeback into the music scene....

Over the years, Johnny Winter has headlined at events like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Chicago Blues Festival, Swedish Rock Fest, Warren Haynes X-Mas Jam and Europe's Rockpalast. In recent years, Winter has performed his new release "Roots" on The David Letterman Show and Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival. Due to his profound success, Johnny Winter was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and in 2003 was voted one of the top 100 guitarists of all time in Rolling Stone magazine.
