Call for Candidates for the 2014 Junior Miss Calaveras Pageant
Angels Camp, CA ...The Junior Miss Calaveras Pageant and Junior Frog Jump will be held concurrently on Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Altaville Melones Fire Department in Angels Camp.The Junior Miss Calaveras competition is open to 8th grade girls in Calaveras County. The contestants are judged on a written test on general local knowledge, a topical speech, an interview by a panel of experienced judges and by raffle ticket sales.

The Junior Miss Calaveras Pageant and Junior Frog Jump will be held concurrently on Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Altaville Melones Fire Department in Angels Camp.
The Junior Miss Calaveras competition is open to 8th grade girls in Calaveras County. The contestants are judged on a written test on general local knowledge, a topical speech, an interview by a panel of experienced judges and by raffle ticket sales. Proceeds from the ticket sales are used for various services including victim relief and bereavement, firefighter equipment and contributions to worthy causes within our community.The winner will be announced during the Junior Frog jump and she will be presented at the Calaveras County Fair the following week. All interested 8th grade girls are encouraged to apply.
Invitation cards outlining the contest are being given to the offices of all 8th grade schools in the county during the week of March 10. A copy of this card is attached to this release. Any interested girls should contact Kirstie Mize (209)768-6689 or Vanessa Bergthold (209) 663-3469 for entry forms and plan to attend a meeting at the Altaville-Melones firehouse on Sat. March 29 at 1:00 PM. A parent or guardian must also attend this meeting with the candidate.
The duties of the Jr. Queen include participation in many of the holiday parades and special events that take place throughout the county in 2014-2015.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Altaville Melones Volunteer Firefighter's association.
The Altaville Melones Fire Department is Located on Monte Verda Street in Angels Camp.
